FREKUENSI PEMBERIAN PAKAN DAN KONDISI PEMELIHARAAN BERBEDA TERHADAP LAJU PERTUMBUHAN LELE DUMBO (Clarias gariepinus) Sri Marnani1, Emyliana Listiowati2 dan Marhaendro Santoso3 Program Studi Budidaya Perairan, Jurusan Perikanan dan Kelautan, Fakultas Sains dan Teknik, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto ABSTRACT The aim of this study were to select the best frequency of feeding and tank background of dark and light on the growth and survival rate for African catfish (Clarias gariepinus). Thirty six aquaria in size 50 x 40 x 40 cm with 30 cm water height were used in this experiment and completed with water aeration. The object of study was African catfish, with total length ranges from 8.0 to 9.6 cm and weight from 11.78 to 13.79 g. The treatments consisted of two factors: the frequency of feeding and tank background conditions with 6 replications. Feeding frequency were 3 levels: 3, 4 and 5 times (F3, F4 and F5). Tank backgrounds were 2 levels: Dark (K1) and Light (K2). Fish were reared up 30 days. The results showed that the the best rate of increase in specific weight occurred in the treatment of conditions of maintenance of light with a frequency of feeding 5 times (5.21%). Specific growth rate (SGR) African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) best occur in conditions of maintenance the light with the frequency of feeding 3 times (1.53%). Survival (SR) maintenance of the highest in bright conditions with feeding frequency 5 times (70%) and not significantly different (P> 0.05) with the condition of dark maintenance with feeding frequency 3, 4 and 5 times (each 70 %).
