STRATIFIKASI SOSIAL DAN HUBUNGAN KERJA NELAYAN TRAMMEL NET PELABUHAN PERIKANAN SAMUDRA CILACAP PASCA TSUNAMI

ABSTRACT

Post disaster Tsunami fisherman Trammel Net Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera Cilacap (PPSC) receives donation of natural disaster from Governor of Central Java in the form of 9 boats, 3 machines and 1000 nets. This research aim to know social stratification caused by domination of fishing equipment among certain fisherman and the relation with fisherman job. Research applied qualitative method, and collecting data used in-depth interview with informen giving important information in research, and observation on social life. Data were analyzed by interactive analysis, and validated with Triangulation analysis to investigate data authenticity. Social stratification of Fisherman caused domination of fishing equipment among certain fisherman was more obvious. Faction of fisherman that occupied the resources was the owner of big capital. Fishermen could be classified based on domination of fishing equipment and capital resulting in 3 strata i.e. fishermen occupying fishing equipment (patron), capital owner (merchant) and labor. Fishermen worked in a team of 3-4 persons; if patrons joined to fishing operation they supervised it. In sea, job description between labor and captain was not clear. The work relationship in sea was not happened in society, since family relationship was stronger.
